This photographic series came from the concern about the formal aspect of this insect, whose aesthetic has been appraised for its uniqueness. The series consisted in shredding the subject to discover its qualities of color, proportion, symmetry, repetition, density and texture. The compositions were generated throughout the process without planning, because that which was obtained from the animal was essentially unpredictable.
Found in the outdoors, probably dead for a few days, the subject not only lost body parts but also its brightness –characteristic of this class of insect. The series highlights these factors, and also generates material for comparing compositions of all and of its parts; whether as a whole or individually.
